Rothko Interpreted is a series where I explored the paintings of artist, Mark Rothko. I approached these works in the same way that a musical artist would make their own interpretation (or cover) of a song. In these works, I look at 4 of Mark Rothko's works and I break them down to an even simpler, and more minimalist interpretation. These works are meant to be a homage to a great artist who inspired me greatly and challenged the world to think about what art is can a simple colour field be considered art? I also simplified the originals by using basic shapes and by creating the paintings digitally.
